SHEFFIELD UNIVERSITY STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
Showcasing another application of S.C.C.’s volumetric pre-cast pod system, 1942 en-suite study bedrooms and associated communal stair core, lounge, dining and kitchen facilities were completed during 2006-2008 for the Endcliffe Student Village Sheffield.
The bedroom and en-suite pods were constructed as a completed room in a controlled environment within our Stockport facility, incorporating internal tiling and M&E fit out including all second fix bathroom items.
The adaptability of the pre-cast concrete pod system ensured quality and allowed for an enhanced safety management system within a secure and robust structure during and beyond the construction process.
The versatility of the concrete structure enabled a variety of cladding systems to be adopted, including aluminium curtain walling, timber, terracotta tiles and brickwork.
