News - Cheque presented to Derian House Childrens Hospice for £13467.00 !!!!
SCC boosts foreman's charity London marathon run in aid of Derian House Childrens Hospice. Workers and sub-contractors rallied round this year to beat the amount raised last year by their foreman David Livingstone, when he ran the London Marathon.
Spurred on by James Barton, steelfixer for SCC Limited, the sponsored run was publicised throughout the construction sites and unbelievably they managed to raise 10 times more than last year with the total collected to date standing at £13,467.00 and still expected to rise.
David completed the run in 3 hours 10 minutes and 5 seconds and has been overwhelmed by the support he has received and the money raised . Unfortunately he was unable to attend the presenation at SCC's manufacturing plant in Stockport, pictured below Trisha Joyce, receptionist for the company, hands the cheque over to Trevor Briggs from Derian House, whilst David's colleagues raise their hats to salute his achievement.
Well done David and to everyone who contributed to such a worthy cause.
