Kings Waterfront Liverpool (M.S.C.P.)
This 1600 space car-park has been constructed to service Liverpool’s new arena on the banks of the river Mersey.
Taken from an original concept scheme by architects Wilkinson Eyre the car-park has been built by Design Build Contractor SCC limited.
The car-park provides parking on six levels, using a large sloping floor plate down the centre of the car-park to provide the necessary access and egress. This form of construction provides the most economic parking layout maximizing on each individual floor plate as no ramps are required.
The clean crisp exterior uses a simple pallet of materials which include; high quality fair faced structural concrete, a stainless steel woven mesh, and an aluminium rain screen cladding system to the main service cores. Louvers cover service areas at ground floor, and plant rooms at roof level.
The project takes on a totally new look in the hours of darkness, with it’s blue zigzag lighting effect shimmering off the stainless steel woven mesh.
