Manchester Joint Hospitals

The 1600 space multi-storey car park constructed for Manchester Royal Infirmary was completed in 2006 as part of the hospital redevelopment and expansion programme.

In addition to the car spaces the facility contains some retail/commercial units at ground level. Awarded through a design and build package the building frame including the external facade has been constructed using almost entirely pre-fabricated components cast off-site at S.C.C. Limited's Reddish works.

These include columns, beams, pre-finished flooring units plus a large proportion of the external cladding units.

These units have been produced as large pre-fabricated components with encast terracotta tiles, giving a rain screen effect to the facade whilst providing vehicle impact protection to the building's structure.
